The prevous owner of my M1009 CUCV was a local PD, and they put in some dark-ass tint in the back ... kills my visibility at night :(

And since it doesn't have A/C, I don't drive the truck when it's hot =))

Anyway, I seem to recall someone telling me NOT to use Windex on tint, which would imply it would help remove the stuff ... other than patience and a supply of razor blades, is there anything I should know?

It doesn't help remove it, it breaks it down, usually makes it turn purple much quicker.

To remove it, just use a single edged razor, and some dishsoaped water, can also use steam, if you have one of those portable units.

Yes, with the old tint it would turn it purple. I believe that most of the better new tint film is ok to use windex on, or so I've been told by the tint guys. I still just use a damp rag.

Sweet. Thanks, all.

Talking about the purple stuff, my sixpack had that in the rear doors ... hideous stuff, that. It looked like it belonged on a 280ZX with a whale tail and window louvers :haha:
