repainting questions

im fixing all the body panels on my truck and want to repaint it when im done so its not like 5 differnet colors.

what prep work should be done? i have a dual action sander that i could go over the exicting paint, but im not sure if the primer will stick to it our not. i want it to last somewhat, not fall off the first time i powerwash it.

any suggestions?

DA it with some 180 to 220... damp towel/ dry towel with paper towels and denatured alcohol.. prime.. sand with 320 to 400.. denatured... paint...
