No GM jokes here from a Ford guy. This could happen to any make.

I just happened to run across this site, and all I could think was just WOW.

This is the kind of story that just makes me itch. I would have loved to have had a chance with that car.
I think most of the trouble was caused by the shop, but even so.......4 batteries and one alt.?

Anyway, its interesting.

Isn't that the repair shop Z3PR and MuddinManny work at?

I worked at a Caddy dealer when those Cateras were new. That list sums up about every Catera that came through the doors, right down to the cracked windshield. Very few came in after they were out of warranty. And any that were traded in were sent to auction, never resold on our lot.

Never see them on the road these days... wonder why.:D

Dito.I worked at a cady dealer also.Catera is the biggest piece of junk ever made.Nobody can afford to keep them.

Have a buddy that got a Catera real cheap when the tranny went in his Tahoe. He drove the thing till every warning light possible on the dash came on then fixed the Tahoe. I have never dealt with them personally, but I was told numerous times that the electrical systems were all terrible.
