Found some nasty rust on my pass. side wheel well. not sure its worth fixing or just order a replacement thru LMC. Anyone has experience with them?

Would you fix this or replace it.

This is looking from the back side that goes against the body, i cut away metal to see whats what

They need to be "adjusted". Drivers side will hit the steering box. Also, they look like crap. A piece of very thin steel is wrinkled to make the shape. Not a true stamping. If the rest of yours is good, fix it.

Yea,,not sure exactly how to fix this. the thicker steel support is riveted to the wheel well, if i chop it all out gonna be a mother to bend/form replacement section, thought about ordering wheel well and chopping out section i need

The LMC one is much thinner. It is doable. But the the price with shipping, I would hammer out a piece from new same gauge material.

Yea, im gonna repair it. I drilled out the spot welds and seperated the brace metal and cut out more rot.

I think I can get a patch panel welded in and then spot the brace back over.

I like the idea of using my OEM stuff. Wish I had figured out how to do that with my org. dash, the LMC ones fit like garbage.

Got everything cleaned up and have some naval jelly on to help with the rust for now.

Yep, paper thin to be exact. I had my LMC inner fenders Rhino lined just too help add some structural integrity back to them. It helped! Like ktmoutfront said, fix what you got is the best approach if you can't find good used ones.

I kinda always felt the LMC ones were so cheap you couldn't hardly spend time on the factory ones to make it worth while. They are practically a consumable item here in Iowa.

Well went to my "go-to" 4x4 shop. What a joke, I know he doesnt like "body" work, but this isnt paper thin either. Long story short, they were all wishy washy about doing it, they were busy, didnt act like it was worth their time.

I dropped it off monday, they were suppose to see if they could do it, by tues afternoon they didnt touch it, I went and picked it up and found out a guy at work does fab/welding. he did it for reasonable price. He just sent me this pic , ill pick it up tomorrow.

He did it for $80. same price as a new one, but atleast I know this one will fit and its OEM, I feel it was worth it. He had to form a piece of metal and clean up my hacking, etc etc.
