Replace A/C Accumulator?

I know when you open the system, it's recommended to replace the accumulator/drier. If I opened up my system and seran wrap and zip tied the fittings for a couple days would it hurt? I just replaced the accumulator not too long ago and have already overspent my budget. It's been dry here lately, if that matters...should I replace it again?

Normally I would recommend changing it, it's not that much expense. But considering your 12% humidity it MAY be ok, as long as you pull a good vacuum on the syatem.

Anybody ever try taking a used one and baking it in an oven or something to dry the dessicant?
