Replace TH350 with 700R4????

[1973 K5]

Working on a 73 K5 with a rebuilt 350. I am getting ready to replace the gears with 4.88's and pushing 35's. I currently have the TH350 in it and have been told that upgrading to the 700R4 would be a very beneficial step. I have never really dealt with a 700R4 so I am trying to find out what everyone might recommend. Stick with the TH350 or go the 700R4. If I go the 700R4 what else might I need to make this bad boy work.

Well a 700 would be easy enough to put in, it will bolt up to whatever Tcase you had with the right spacer and it's easy to setup, everything is contained int eh TV cable, and it has a lower first gear and a higher final gear, plus with the 4.88 and 35" tires you'd be spot on for the 700R4.
Don't forget to add a transmission cooler too the 700 would love you.

don't forget the lockup for the torque converter. BTO has a nice easy setup
