i forgot to take note of which face on the thermostat was facing inward toward the engine, drove it to school this morning and it tried to get too hot, but my heater kept it down low enough to get me to school. also, how do i make sure it's centered, such that the faces of the housing mate up flush, b/c i got a leak too. :o sux.

The spring faces down into the engine. I dont think it would clear the housing if upside down, but I never tried.

this is on a 6.2 diesel - there's plenty o room either way. :) thanks! now i can't remember how i put it in, so i'm gonna have to pull it and try again. oh well. it's a 5 minute project, no biggie.
