1/2 ton status
I'd like to start by saying I have searched and everything I've done so far I found elsewhere on this sight.
Ok, so last night my truck wouldn't start. The starter would turn but nothing.... So, checked to see if I had fuel, yes, fuel is being delivered, ok, so then spark, NO Spark. So, every post I saw on here said most likely ignition module... took it into pep boys, they tested, it was good. Replaced that with the electrowhatever goo. So, seemed like from what everyone said on other posts that it would then most likely be pickup coil, so I took the distributer apart, and replaced that... Same effect, when I put it in, starter would turn truck wont' crank over. So, then, maybe its the ignition coil, well, replaced that, and now I've got nothing... The starter won't crank over, and it seems that I've got no electric. checked the fuses, and the ignition one looks good, there is also one called power or something that is big and metal, don't know what that one does but its not a visible fuse..... So, now I have two problems!!!
I'm looking around and people say that maybe the negative cable isn't grounded properly or something, but dont' really know how this could have happened after replacing the ignition coil. I really need to fix this today as it is in a bank parking lot and dont' want to get it towed. Anybody had anything like this before or know what to do?
