I just replaced the front and rear tie rods and the steering wheel is turned more to the right when going straight and the drivers side tire points out. How can I adjust the drag link to correct this thanks a lot.

Yes, you'll have to adjust the toe alignment. What year is the truck? does it have a solid axle or independent suspension... and what the hell do you mean by front and rear tie rods?! Best way to align the toe at home is to run a string around your entire truck and place the string at the very center of the tire on each corner. Then you'll adjust the front end untill both front and rear of the front tire touches the string, but doesn't buldge out the string either. Just make both sides look the same.

Hey, that string idea sounds pretty good. I just use two 1X2s like a telescope. Measuring the rear of the tire 1/2 way up, just put one on top of the other, slide them until both ends are touching the tires and mark the 1X2. Then measure the front the same way. Adjust the toe in until they are about equal and then head for an alignment shop. Last time I did it I was right on.

When you get the toe in about right, then you can center your steering wheel by adjusting your drag link if you have that kind of setup. When you turn the drag link adjusting tube, the tires will remain stationary and your steering gear will spin the steering wheel.

I believe he replaced the draglink ends front and rear:D
And yes to adjust the steering wheel you adjust that sleeve.

Its a 87 1/2 tone solid axle in the front. How do you adjust the tires in is it that long bar running across the front of the axle?

If I understand your first post, you simply replaced the ends on your drag link or connecting rod. If that's all you did, your toe in will not have changed but your steering wheel may be off. I would suggest you pick up a shop manual from eBay or a regular Haynes from Autozone or somewhere. Anyhow, when you change drag link ends you should be sure that you have the same number of threads showing on both ends (the book says within 3). Then, with the drag link in place, loosen the lock nuts and turn the tube. As you do so, you'll see your steering gear turning. Just make sure it's turning the right way and when it is centered, you're all set.

Tie Rod photo has two arrows. If you were going to adjust the toe in you would loosen the nut on each end (red arrow) and turn the tube (yellow arrow).

The Connecting Rod photo also has two arrows. To adjust it, loosen the both nuts (red arrow) and turn the tube (yellow arrow) until the steering wheel centers.
