I'm having trouble finding any places that sell the foam molded bucket seat inserts for my 91 K5 Blazer.

Anyone have any info on a spot that sells them.

They definitely look similar. Hopefully one of the diehards in here has an answer to my dilemma.

If your front seats match the seats used in the M1009, yes. I haven't seen pics of your seats, but my understanding is they used the same seat as the S10 after 86. However, the easy thing for you to do would be to find a cheap used seat from an S10 blazer locally to you to compare them to first.

If you can find the S10 info, you MIGHT be able to cross the part numbers.

This is what I could find in the parts manuals that Kenny has provided us. Note that there are two designs, '85-86 had two designs possible (tilt passenger or tilt/slide both), the second design is what carried on until 1991.

Pretty sure the majority of the part number differences are color. But if the S10s's didn't use the exact same color code material, the part numbers will be different. Unfortunately I don't see anythign showing they sold the foam, covers, etc. separate.

Just wanted to add :

When I had my M1009 army/diesel blazer (granted this was ten years ago)
I used to see a lot of NOS military parts on ebay

I specifically remember seeing replacement bucket seat foam for the M1009

My Upholstery guy said he will just add to the existing foam where needed. Which is fine with me, he's very good.

What sort of price are you looking at for that?

Just curious, one way or another I'll need to get seats for the new K5, I had heard good foam was quite expensive.

As an observation, the original seats in my K5 give me no problems sitting in them for hours at a time. They are quite comfortable to me. I never "bottom out" in them like I find myself doing in modern vehicles when you hit a good bump.

I am curious too! I would like to have my foam upgraded and hoping I can add heated seats. I know spoiled but would be a nice upgrade.

I'm dropping the seats Friday and should have them back with a couple weeks....I. having them sandblasted, frames/plastic trim repainted, any springs fixed, padding he talked about adding some to it, but until he gets into it I won't exactly know...I have 2 vinyl covers for it...I'm guessing up to a grand for both.

The S10 seat foam is clearly a different shape from the late K5 seats I have. Maybe a skilled person could carve it out, but my guess is that the S10 is smaller to begin with, not larger. Those shapes are cut into the foam and the trenches have velcro in them that the upholstery attaches into. Otherwise, it would slide around, or just try to pull flat across the top.

Now if you could find that seat in a compatible color, or you were going to have something recovered anyway, then a lot of options open up.

I researched that as well when someone mentioned those s10 seat cushions and came to the conclusion they are definitely different and may be more work to build up than to repair the original foam. It's ashame no one makes the foam.

Got my seats back.... between the 81-91 seat covers from Raybucks, painting the frame bases, buying the plastic side cover pieces and painting (hard to find anywhere), seat cushion modifications/additions ( since the foam is intertwined with the frame you can't really replace it, so he added foam where needed from wear and tear), he had to make adjustments to the seat cover as it didn't fit absolutely correct. When all said and done $500 per seat...I went with the vinyl and velour combo.
