Guys
I bought a 84 K2500 with a winch bumper on the front. While many guys would be stoked to have it I'm not. So I have been searching the local yards for a front bumper. Also need the attaching brackets but that seems to be a non issue. The cappy ones in the yards all had them attached.

So I'm wondering about the bumpers LMC and the likes sell. Does anyone have any real world experience? Are they strong and not some Chinese tin can? Also are the contours same as the OEM ones in that items like bumper guards are exact fit?

Thanks!

I bought a rear bumper from them when I first bought my blazer. It was the double chrome version and it seems to be pretty nice but I haven't seen it next to an OEM. Mine had a hideous ranch(?) style bumper that had some booger welded brackets on it so it was a huge improvement from what I had. The LMC is symmetrical and fits like you would expect. I've heard of some of the chinese bumpers having a weird offset to one side, I think sreidmx mentioned something about them in the Ethel thread. I don't have any pics of the new one but here's one of the ugly one for giggles:IMG_0372.jpg

I got both bumpers for my '72 C10 from LMC. They fit well and the chrome was really good but not perfect.
But they are thinner than factory stuff. So I kept my original ones in storage.

Just got a bad feeling about hanging Chinese bumpers on my truck.....

So I shot LMC an email regarding their bumpers and I asked, if they fame off original tooling (cough * b.s.) then factory bumper guards will fit, right? Their reply? They don't know for sure.... LOL

It wasn't pleasant to buy foreign parts again, but I couldn't afford to get mine redone, partially due to shipping them somewhere.
