This crossmember is designed for the 1973-1991 Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUV's. It allows crossover steering utilizing a straight draglink without interference. If you use crossover steering with a straight draglink it will contact the engine crossmember. Our crossmember solves this issue and we have literally sold hundreds of these. This crossmember can also be used to eliminate the stock crossmember which is prone to cracking just inside the passenger side frame rail. The crossmember is easy to install and can be done within 1 to 2 hours with the majority of the time removing the stock one.

Note: This crossmember requires a minimum of 4 inches of suspension lift to negate the possibility of interference with the differential during suspension travel.

This is the same crossmember installed by Peterson's 4 wheel and Offroad magazine on the Ultimate K10 used this year for their Ultimate Adventure.

This is the same crossmember found on many of the members here as well.

CK5 member price: :eek1: $140.00

will it work in a first gen?

I have a cross member from a 2nd gen I was going to put in my 72 so I could access the oil pan if needed.

It will but you will have to modify it slightly. It has been awhile since the last person did it, so I am fuzzy on the mods.
