I hate to ask this question as I know where it will go. BUT I need to replace the front springs on the m1009, there sagging horribly. I want to keep it stock yet get a good set of springs that can handle the weight of the smelly diesel. I noticed they are 3 leaf fronts. Any one sell any good stock replacement springs for the diesels? I'll need to do this eventually but im trying to figure everything out now so i can budget it later.

Just to point out the obvious, the stock springs curve down normally.

Not on mine, my 3 leaf fronts where apositive arch, barely noticeable but positive.
The 2 leaf springs always have a negative arch, and are very smooth riding.
I got a crew cab once that someone added a 4th leaf to, it rode like **** so I took one off and it was negative arch, so I guess it had sagged and they thought adding a leaf will fix that.:dunno:

The 3 pairs of 3 leaf front springs i picked up are all arched positive but the one's on the blazer are horribly negative arched.

All 73-87/91 Chevy front springs will have a negative arch when mounted on the truck with weight on them (both 2 and 3 leaf). They look positive when sitting on the ground with no load on them though. The 3 leaf will have less negative arch and sit about an inch higher than the 2 leaf versions with the same motor.

LMC should sell brand new springs.

I was going to say the same thing. Even aftermarket 2.5" lift springs look almost completely flat with weight on them, with stock springs having negative arch.

The K30 reg cab I had actually had positive arch with the 3 leaf springs under the truck.
It had a 350 and was a regular cab, I guess not much weight was on it and it was never abused.
It wasn't a very pronounced arch but it was not negative or flat.
By the way most 2 leaf stock springs I had were flat when off the truck.:dunno:

It just depends on how much wear and tear they have had over the years making them sag and permanently deform. But, I do remember my dad's '79 K30 from when he bought it new. With the weight of a small block on 3 leaf fronts, the front springs were basically flat. Now, they are severely sagging and have a negative arch.
