When replacing K5 body mounts should I loosen the bolts on the opposite side that I'm replacing? I'm going to lift and replace one side at the time. I wonder if I need to loosen all the mounts on the opposite sides of the K5 before lifting.
Thats what I do.When replacing K5 body mounts should I loosen the bolts on the opposite side that I'm replacing? I'm going to lift and replace one side at the time. I wonder if I need to loosen all the mounts on the opposite sides of the K5 before lifting.
Did you find the the opposite side of the body shifted on you when you lifted the K5? Also do you lift the one side evenly?Thats what I do.
It doesnt shift much. I use a length of 4x6 between the jack and the body and jack it up just high enough to get the mounts swapped out.Did you find the the opposite side of the body shifted on you when you lifted the K5? Also do you lift the one side evenly?
Thanks. When you lifted one side did you lift the entire side up evenly? It would take multiple floor jacks? It doesnt shift much. I use a length of 4x6 between the jack and the body and jack it up just high enough to get the mounts swapped out.
If I remember right, one jack in the middle tilted the whole side up. My memory isnt the greatest though! Thanks. When you lifted one side did you lift the entire side up evenly? It would take multiple floor jacks?
Great advice. Because you dont want the parking brake set so the cable will let the body lift easierChock the wheels. My K10 popped out of gear when I lifted the drivers side.
