I replaced my stock pump and sending unit with a Walbro unit when I installed the LS motor, but ran it out of gas once and killed the pump. Installed an AC Delco unit and decided to go through the floor as this would give me easy access out on the trail and I had about 15 gallons in there already.

I took some measurements and came out with some good cuts I thought I would share.

so ignore the tape. That is measurements I found on the web that turned out to be whack. What I would suggest is taking my measurements, marking them out and then dropping a small drill bit through the floor that you can visualize and see where it hits. That is what I was did and was able to see that my first marks were waaaaay off.

take your time, measure twice cut once.

It's not so much that you ran out of gas but Walbro just blows. I replaced mine after a couple months of frustratingly trying to find the problem, brand new just a couple months back. Went AC Delco also, that was a couple years ago now. I cut a hole too LOL. I also got my hands on some bed material and made a plate to go over the hole and screwed it down. (but I only have a rubber mat over the floor)

I didn't cut the whole piece out. I bent it up and out leaving the driver side intact. This way it just bent back. I have a weather guard tool box on top anyway and duct taped the flap back down.
