Replacing pinion races

On a Corp Semi Float, is there anything to watch for when driving out old races and driving in the new ones? I've got a pinion bearing race driver. I'm concerned with being able to keep the races square while driving them out/in and ruining the center section.

Just tap them in and out evenly, its really hard to ruin the center section.

I knocked my new ones in with a brass punch. It's softer than the races. I got them seated real good using it.
