Replacing rear quarter glass seal question

I plan on replacing the rear quarter glass seals and was curious what is the recommended adhesive or sealant that is used for the seals.

3m auto bedding glazing compound, is what I used on mine.

Clear Lexol sealant works great... Cleans up with mineral spirits

Thank you for the response. One more quick question, when pulling off the old seal I noticed there is some stuck on black residue. What did you do or what do you do to remove this, or does it need to be removed?
