Ok I’m wondering if there would be anything wrong with mounting a gas tank from an 88’ ½ inside of the frame of an 89’ Crew Cab that originally had saddle tanks. I imagine all I would have to do is make some brackets to hold the strap mounts.

Oh & I’m cutting my frame down so it would be like mounting the tank on an 80’s sub.

The 88 and up trucks had wider space inside the frame rails to fit those tanks inside, with the 89 Crew cab it will probably hit the driveshaft.

only 2 ways around this i know of. a 88-up body c&c truck with thin inner frame tank at less than 20 gal if i recall. or blazer /burban tank at the back of the frame.

the 88-up reg trucks frames bow out a lot after the cab. our 73-87-91 frames are basicly stright shot back. so no it would not work.
