Alright, since I am having trouble actually locating spindle studs for my Dana 60, here is my thought, drill the holes out a bit, tap them, install bolts from the back side and use them instead of the studs. Ford uses 5 7/16" studs while Chevy is 6 1/2" studs, so figure upgrade to 1/2" size.

I dont think that the spindle or stub shaft will fit in the hole all the way if you do that. Part of the bolt head that is supposed to be in there is cut away for some purpose. I could go snap a pic of the ford HP D60 in my garage if it would help you visualise what i am referring too.

eh if you don't think so I'll talk your word on it. Damnit... back looking for spindle studs. You really think everyone would stock these damn things.

Thanks for the parts mike thing I found that but not sure I care to deal with him. I have heard good things but the website is so unproffessional, unchanged in a long time, just seems like no one cares.

That and I don't trust someone who can't do math. Look closely, the kit of $5 spindle studs costs $9.95.... where as 1 is $1.95.... do the math folks.

eh whatever I put together a little order from him. He is the only one I've found that has a Dana 60 rebuild kit with actual Timkin bearings vs some brand I've never heard of.

grr but his ordering system is non-existent.

try highonda over on pirate. i have bought all my 60 parts from him, gfreat price and great to deal with.

Mike at Parts Mike is a good guy - I've ordered parts from him several times and he ships promptly, gave me good prices, and was really helpful. I wish more 4x4 places were like that :)

And no, I'm not defending him because we share the same name

I built my D44 through Mike. He's a good place to deal with. Just use his website as a reference and give him a call personally. I get my D44 spindle studs and self locking nuts through him. I also bought new '77+ D44 spindles, and they're Danas :D

Eh I called ORD, I figured I'd call them before I called up Parts Mike and they said they have what I need(though may need to order in the Ford Spindle studs) which has me worried a little, hopefully end of next week.
