Ok so I bought a lifted 87' blazer the other day with some pretty bad rust and found a really nice body 90' for it. Now I need some ideas on how to get a the old one off and the new one on aside from the obvious forklift and lift ideas.

And about how heavy is the thing so i can decide if some of my ideas will work.

Thanks in advance,
Darrell

Bobcat comes to mind. Doing the same thing, except the K5's coming off and a 87 pick up cab's going on. Should be able to let you know next weekend on the weight. Something tells me it's gonna be a heavy sucker:rolleyes::haha:

I did a body swap on a suburban a few yrs ago and used the rafters of the barn with a pulley and my winch

The guy I bought it from put it on the trailer with a fork lift and we took it of by prying it up with a 4x4 and put furniture dollies under it and rolled it off the trailer. but now it seems about un-movable lol. I was thinking about trying to find someone with a bobcat with a one of those arm attachments like an engine hoist to lift it. And I had a high enough garage I would use the rafters but no garage either and the one guy I know with a shop his lift is one of those 30" max height ones.

I was thinking just now while I was outside that I could build 2 vertical posts in the middle of my drive and then from them to the roof of my house then place a cross beam. But still not sure I can achieve the height.

if you tap it, they will come.

lol Yeah I just had 2 friends stop by and offer to help I think 6 big guys with 3-4"x4" a guy on each side might be the way. He also said he had a neighbor with a forklift that may be willing.

I will post some pics when I get my 5 posts lol.

there is this thing called a pad. Just posting something off the wall to get to your fifth post!

Oh, by the way, this has been an informative pad.

I was working on some posts just didn't want them to be too obscure.

2 to start
New body.

Truck.

I got this far tonight. And the interior is almost completely out. I left it running to move it around.

Understand. Keep us posted on progress please since I need to do the same job. Probably going the full vert route here.

Wow...I don't know how you guys put up with that rust problem. I am so glad I live where it's dry.
