So I've been working to replace the throttle body injector pod, fuel line fittings, and fuel lines (return and delivery) for some time now. The last piece I need is a fuel return line and the dealer quotes 120.00 for this line (and it is on back order). Is there any other source for these fuel return lines that you guys are aware of (I'd prefer a new line over a used one)?

This is for a '91 Jimmy Fullsize.

Thanks!

Also, the reason I am replacing the fuel return line is the fitting where it fastens to the throttle body adapter has damaged threads (cannot be salvaged). I've replaced the two adapter fittings for the throttle body, the fuel delivery line, and I am just lacking the fuel return line now. Is there a way to repair the fitting on the end of the return line without replacing the entire thing?

Junkyard, or maybe a place like Napa that can make new lines. Making new lines would probably require you to remove the old one first. You should be able to find a good used one in a junkyard though. Since you're down in Tx you shouldn't have to deal with allot of rust.

So if I remove the line and bring it into a shop like NAPA, they piece together fuel line parts in order to 're-create' the line?

They should be able to, I don't know how much it'll cost though.

If it's just the end, have them make that piece and after where the braided line turns to hard line (on the frame), splice it in there with a compression fitting.

Can you find out what size the fitting was? On a 4th of july weekend i discovered that the PO had crossthreaded the fuel filter and the only place open was a farm store where we bought a new filter. Didnt help much because the crossthreaded fitting wouldnt seal and was pouring fluid.

My father in law hacksawed the old filter nut that was not damaged in half(making two c's) and then cut these off the filter body. Place the two halves at the the back of the fitting(wich was still on the line on the truck). Take a pair of channel locks on the halves and one on the fitting and unscrew. Stood the threads back up and recut. 5 years now and many filter changes later and no leaks

I did the same trick on a wheel bearing spindle that someone had hammered on the threads. Worked great and the retaining nuts spun on by hand when I was done. I used cutting oil on the spindle to make it easier. Hope this helps and could save you some $$$

I still have the old line on the truck, the fitting where it fastens to the TB is actually missing threads. When I removed it from the TB the threads were damaged and I could peel them off halfway up the fitting.

I'd rather replace it with a new part as I've about had enough of messing with fuel leaks, just wondered if there was another supplier someone knew of to order replacement hoses ready to bolt onto the truck.

Thanks!
