Howdy guys, My buddy has a 2wd s-10 that the wheel bearing is going out on. I was curious how difficult a job this is to fix it. Thanks for any tips guys.

I think 2wd is like any older rear drive car , actual spindle and bearing with races . Should be easy .

Its only a PITA if its a 4wd , those have unit bearings .

I had a 2001 2wd blazer. It had unit bearings. I had to replace frount wheel bearing in 2002 and only place i could find bearing was at chevy dealer.

Unit bearings aren't hard, either. They are much more expensive than the old way, but they can be found at any auto parts store these days. Hell, damn near everything uses them now. They are faster to change than an old 4wd setup, what with pulling apart a locking hub and pounding out races and all that. Don't get me wrong, I still hate paying fot them, but I can appreciate the ease of installation.:D
