Repost? Jeep knockoff

looks to be a jeep based product. IIRR some countries buy parts from larger auto manufactures to build their own vehicles. But since it isnt controlled by the large company its required to have their own name.

That truck actually seems to look nice then a typical jeep though...

I wouldn't mind going for a test drive in one. Especially if I could take it through the water like that on said testdrive, hahaha.

It's from Brazil so yeah definitely one or the other. Google translator is another option, maybe when I'm done eating...

I picked this up off a local forum, someone suggested Ford involvement but didn't mention any details. Could be BS :dunno:

Kinda looks Zuk from the side, Jeep from the front.

So

3.0 litre 4 cylinder 16 valve intercooled diesel w/common rail

HP if you can translate this - 163 cv (120 KW) @ 3800 rpm
Torque 38.8 kgf.m@ 1600 -2200 rpm

Manual 5 speed with 4.5:1 1st gear

I think 2.4:1 Transfer case

4.9:1 Diff

Trac Loc

I can't quite make sense of the info about the axles kinda frustrating but it looks like a coil sprung solid front axle.

The body is fiberglass

Boxed frame

EDIT - as of January it is owned by Ford Brazil. Speculators say it might be a search for a platform for the new Bronco.

Doh! :doah:

I used 163 kw instead of 120 in the conversion. You are right. It sounded a bit high for a 4 cyl diesel.

Okay, so if what Fireplug said is true, and Furd is looking for a bronco platform, then wouldn't GM want to put out a vehicle to counter the Bronco??

And isn't the K5 the Bronco's arch nemesis??

So maybe we'll get the a K5 prototype, if those other dudes get a Bronco prototype....

okay... ummm.....

I thought tahoe's only come in four door now??

And GM doesn't have a convertable truck anymore... And that is a K5 must.

BUt I geuss instead of marketing a new truck, they'd probably just market the crap out of the H3, or H4....

It is called a TROLLER T4

Troller Veículos Especiais S/A (Troller) is a manufacturer of automobiles in Brazil. It was founded in 1995, in Horizonte, Ceará.
The name Troller is a non-official Brazilian Portuguese adaptation of the English word troll, probably mistaken with trolley. Small human-powered railway cars used to be called troles until recently -- and this may well be the inspiration for the name. The apparent English feel of the name is for branding purposes.
Troller T4 3.0 Turbodiesel is Troller's flagship. It has featured successfully in several rally races around the world, including the Paris Dakar Rally.

Troller T4

In 2005, a manufacturing plant opened in the African country of Angola to build the T4 for the African market.
Ford Motor Company announced in January 2007 the acquisition of Troller in November 2006, for an undisclosed price

Ford has money to spend on buying other companies...WTF????

They'll probly never bring it here though.
