I am going to restore the seats in my 79. Does anyone know how many yards of cloth it will take to do the bench rear and the 2 buckets up front?

Not off the top of my head, but it's pretty easy to take some measurements and figure it out. Are you building them from scratch? Unless you got tools, patience, and skill, I'd recommend reproduction covers or an upholstery shop.

These guys can tell you and they have the original frabrics and upholstery OEM

I bought mine from them and it's the real thing...I think it was 4 yards to do two buckets and rear bench, piping and buttons

I'm getting the factory cloth material which is not available in a reproduction cover. I'm having an upholstery shop reproduce the factory seats. Much stronger than reproduction covers.

i just got a sample from them. Its $99 per yard. Its the plad material. No buttons. It vinyl sides and backs and a vinyl center in the back seat.

Mine was $75 a yard, but man what a difference...I first bought the reproduction covers and sent them back...bought the SMS material and had a local upholstery shop do them...the material is almost indestructable...and it looks right...AND it is stamped on the back so I know it is genuine...same material it would have come from the factory with.

IMG_0715.JPG Ive heard the reproduction seat upholstery is sub par. I'm going with new foam. New vinyl, and the original factory cloth for the Cheyenne trim package.

I don't think the seatback foam can really be replaced with new on a highback bucket. The foam is molded around the seat frame.
