ReTonkulous

Utlilmaster P30
Runs and drives. Engine seems to be a little anemic. 1984 was the worst year for 454's. Crappy heads and no compression. Someone rebuilt the engine about 500 miles ago. Put a crappy Rattler cam in it. Does not even lope correctly.

Brand new tires.

Zero rust anywhere. Being aluminum body probably helps.

The truck has 38k miles on it.

Future plans.....
figure out the engine issue
soften throttle pedal resistance
lower the driving position so I can reach the throttle peddle
PRP seats from the back of the Jimmy
AC and heat added (plenty of room for once)
Fix driver window
replace passenger door window
replace passenger windshield
exhaust cutouts ran into side pipes
A big fricken wing above the back of the bed
overdrive of some kind

What will you do with it? Tow truck and unusual company truck?

-however,

I hope you know you have implied that this thing will soon be fully amphibious, possibly painted with adorable feather motif, and generally unstoppable??
Expectations have been set. Hopes are UP.

Don’t forget new shocks. She looks ready.
They work for now. I was really surprised how well it drives going down the road. It is a one hand drive. I went over some RR tracks that beat the crap out of my 1 ton Dodge. I went "oh crap" as I got to them in the dark and realized too late to do anything. It floated over so much better than my Dodge.

I think GM made P30 mostly out of left overs.

Then the customer could really get whatever it needs were if they bought enough trucks. I think any railroad could probably get GM to build whatever they wanted

Well of course the Chevy will be better than the Dodge. That’s a given. :waytogo:
