Retro fitting AAM axles

I don't see why not. Change the spring perches, probably a u joint, and brake line adapter.

I have no idea on any of it, but they are beefy and the ebrake setup is way better. If they can hang behind a d max then they will have no prob in any of our rigs

Even the newer 14 bolts with the factory discs would be cool

Honestly that rear is way to big for anything sub 42s. I do agree though the disc/real parking brake is great.

The only negative thing would be the price of a locker compared to a good ol 14ff, at least a Detroit type. But like others have said, I can't see any reason not to, especially if you want a 3.73. Same rears under Dmax and Cummins rigs.

I wasn't going to buy that, I mostly wanted to start a discussion about it and see if anyone has done it.

For 300 bucks, that is a good deal tho

Just don't put it in a rig that needs ground clearance... The pigs are SOOO dang big.

Unless you are running stupid big tires imo.

My brother went with the newer 14 bolt vs that 11.5AAM. Main reasons were cost and clearance. Both use a 1410 u-joint as well. He never bothered hooking up his parking brake and uses a stock master cylinder and stock proportion valve and it works good.

What kind of gear ratio selection is there for 11.5's?
