Hey guys. This may be a stupid question, but I recently had a leak in the braided hose on the return fuel line. I temporarily cut the line and ran a rubber fuel hose. My question is that when I cut the return line, it never stopped running gas out. Should the return line have fuel running out of it?

Could it be siphoning?
Some residual fuel wouldn't be uncommon

I guess it could be. I was able to save about 2 gallons of gas in a gas can in the time it took me to get a line on to plug it. I was wondering if this was connected to having problems starting when its warmed up

Your definitely siphoning then
Could be a pump or filter problem?

I think I would insure the ignition system is primo. then troubleshoot the fuel system.
There is probably some type of troubleshooting chart for FI systems somewhere.

There should be some restriction to pulling fuel through the pump, but if it runs fine, no biggie. I noticed my system also siphons if I crack the lines at the fuel filter or any other fitting that is below the tank. Since the system is "sealed", as long as there is fuel to begin a siphon, I would expect to see fuel coming out the "return side" of the return line, and not pull from the tank side, as IIRC, the return fitting on the tank just pours in from the top, it doesn't have a dip tube.

Thanks for the help guys. I was wondering if this was causing the problems I have been having starting it when it's warmed up. I have another thread with more details. Any help with this would be much appreciated.
