Rev lights staying on

What are some things that will cause the rev lights to stay on?

One day they were fine the next there staying on. . . ?

maybe the switch that makes them turn on when u put it in reverse is stuck down

Yup, if it's an auto, it is at the bottom of the column.

reach down and pull the pedal up and they should turn off.

like jason said its the switch my 90 sub would do that and i got in the habit of when i shut the truck off to pull up the pedal with my foot to shut the lights off.

Is that why people drive around with the white light / tail light on???

I think buffblazer is referring to the brake light switch. The reverse light switch is coupled to the gear selectorinthe column. From memory, botto top partof column on top.

ummmm Is it anywhere close to the netural wire/switch?
Mine went out and I "hot" wired it a while back
But this problem started a few days ago.

Replace your hot wired mess with a neutral safety switch and I bet the reverse light on problem goes away

I bet it doesnt , its been that way over a yr now. The rev lights have been on 3 days now.
An all I did was unhook and wire 2 wires together. . .

But Ill try it.

The switch does both reverse lights and nuetral safety, so if one part has already failed it is highly likely that the other part has finally given out.

i for some reason was thinking brake lights not reverse lights.
