Rev Range Perkins 354 C Cyl Diesel

What's the usable rev range for a 354 diesel?

We're running it at 2000 and only getting 40mph. We'd like to go to 2500 and get 50 but we've no red line indication on the gauge.

Anyone know?

you need to talk to imiceman. He used to have a perkins in a blazer. Seems pretty knowledgeable about the older perkins

Depending on the model, 2800 is redline, and 2500 is max continuous.

I think the operator's manual will do you the most good. It should let you identify your exact model and then give the specs for it.
