So I found a tranny to replace the one in my truck that no longer works, but I need to know if I can just swap out the reverse manual valve body for the regular one. This is the tranny I'm looking at: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264287

Is it as easy as it sounds? I know you drop the pan and the valve body is right there, but what am I missing.

Discuss!!!!!

not sure about a T700, but my T400 I had to change the band apply pin rings in the servo, and remove the vacuum modulator (which a 700 don't have, but might have something done with the TV cable?

I read that last night after I did a nice little google search. I know it really isn't that hard, especially with the trans out of the truck. I guess I am just confused on the whole thing as far as what other mods may have been done to it while installing the RMVB that may interfere with the proper functioning of a stock(ish) valve body in its place. Maybe I need to ask the question differently, and talk to the guy with the trans a bit more in depth.

I believe there is parts that get taken out and not reused, so if you want to go back to a stock valve body (why) then make sure those parts are available to you.

That's what I'm worried about. I want to go back to a stock valve body because I want to be able to drive it on the street like a normal truck. I also have a new set of seats with a jump seat/console that I think would block or screw up the proper application and use of a floor shifter, but I haven't seen any trucks or blazers with anything but the Art Carr shifter, and that would never work for my set up. I would have to get a Lokar or a Gennie, but I am still looking for pics and trying to find someone who has done something similar so I get a good idea if it would work or not.

I'm so opposite this whole line of thinking for my rig... :haha:

AC and it's getting a rmvb this time around... no tv cable? sweeeeeeet..... and that'll probably be 75/25, street/trail.... :eek1:

no help on the stock swap sorry... :(

to bad u dont live closer to nevada i just swapped in a 4l80e and my 700 is just sitting there collecting dust i just rebuilt it about 6 months ago upgraded to a 13 vane pump and installed the beast reaction drum worked great when i took it out.
as far as the manual valve body i swapped one back for a customer about a year ago and i just contacted the kit builder and they faxed me what i needed to swap and check for.

I'm keeping the AC as well.

Why not just get a megashifter and live with the reverse body?

Those things are ugly as ****. But I am definitely starting to lean towards getting it and having fun with it, I was driving my moms TT today with the triptronic 6 speed, and I was having a great time shifting on my own with the trans holding the gear no matter what speed I was going.

Yea, that would be a lot easier if I still lived in California. Quite a bit closer than Tex-ass. But I was thinking the same thing, just have to confirm with the current owner of the trans that I can get in touch with the builder. Ok, I have to go, my sister in law is shoving whiskey in my face.

if you cant get any help from the builder on what make it is i can probably call my part supplier to get some help. cheers to the whiskey my sister hooked it up with a bottle of single barrel and me n her husband are killin that elixir of the gods right now
