ok first off would it be any good on a daily driver? and does it switch you from

P-R-N-D-2-1 to 1-2-D-N-R-P or from P-R-N-D-2-1 to P-R-N-1-2-D

get what i'm askin? does it reverse everything or just foreward gears?

P-R-N-3-2-1 From this
P-R-N-1-2-3 To this

The idea is when wheeling you can quickly go from 1 to N or R to N or even 1 to R in a hurry.

yeah cool! /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif is it any good on the road? or is it an inconvenience?
[stupid question mode] there's no clutch pedal involved right?[/stupid question mode]

You absolutly DO NOT want this setup on a column shifter for street use (or trail use for that matter)!!!!! Its WAYYYY to easy to miss gears, you need the precision of a full ratchet shifter like B&M or Hurst (or an Art Carr for some of the upper class folk /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.)

On the road? I don't drive on the road much anymore but it's not to bad and no clutch pedal.

so i would wanna ditch the column shifter huh? how much would it cost to have my th400 switched to reverse manual and a nice floor mounted ratchet shifter.

I've allways wondered if you have to manually shift all gears or do you still have the "drive" combination at the third position? Thanks,

There is a vavle body modification called automatic/manual which goes full manual when you drop it into L1, but will retain the automatic driving when you put in in D.

/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif anyone else heard of this? that would be pretty cool.

I just priced a crap load of stuff from Art Carr for my TH400 and the reverse manual valve body was one of them. If you feel like spending $349 it can be yours. I would recommend a reverse gate cable shifter if you plan to go this route.

Yeap. The street car guys know all about this. Car Craft magazine is a good source of information on such things. It's not available for 700R4s though to my knowledge (I'd like it on my 700). Just 350s and 400s. Get a transbrake and you'll be the talk of the town. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Do you know who makes it? I'd like to turn a 700R4 into a full manual valvebody. A transbrake would be nice too.

I'm sure one of these days my 700 is going to die so I might as well head it off. The only thing that pisses me off is that ratchet shifters are so expensive and 4speed ratchet shifters are doubly so.

Be careful, as far as I know Art Carr has the only manual valve body with compression breaking, which you want for off-road use.
