Just like the title says I've come up w/ a plan for the k10 (with TONS of help from a few guys on here via AIM) but want you guys to check it out to see if I'm missing something...

REAR:
DIY4X Shackle Flip w/ 6" Shackles
(Mount on "wrong" side)
56" stock height rear springs from a 3/4-1 ton
Zero rate if need be

FRONT:
DIY4X B52 Kit
52" stock height springs from the rear of a 1/2 ton
Extended shackles (Hill 4x4 OR Black Widow Performance)
Zero Rate

I'll run my 14" travel Bilstein 5125 monotubes in the rear and my 5150's in the front (with Ford towers or a shock hoop).

After it's all on I'll measure for the draglink and get x-over installed...

The plan is to run 35's... either BFG AT's OR SSR/TSL/etc.

This'll work well w/ my 4.10's and be easy on my 14ff/10b...

So basically what I'm asking is if I'm missing anything, if it'll sit level, if it'll give me enough clearance to run 35's even w/ how flexy it'll be or other suggestions as far as springs go...

Thanks!

Sounds like a plan! All I would suggest is extended bump stops and limiting straps. If money permits, get the best, flexiest springs that you can. And , again if money permits, get beadlocks of some sort. I used the Staun 'second air beed lockers' which work brilliantly on the inner and outer bead, plus it looks like you're still running a standard wheel so it doesn't attract too much interest! An OBA system and you're sorted! Definately go cross over too.

Im running 63's out back, 38 in tires, 4:88's and a D60. Im running 4 in TC front springs, ford cast shock towers for now but will tie into my cage at some point with the shocks. Detroit in the 14FF and probably an ARB in the D60. I have cut the hell out of my sheet metal.

Yeah other stuff was just a given... extended bump stops (until I can afford the air ones down the road) and limiting straps are a must...
I've been keeping my eye on the Staun internal beadlocks for a little while now and I think I'll go that route down the road...maybe start w/ a set for the front and eventually get a set for the rear...

My main concern was sitting level which I know depends on the condition of the springs but I just wasn't sure how much lift was netted using 52's/56's w/ the way I'm mounting them...

Ok next thing... Is it worth it to just order up some springs from LMC? Seems like I could find some from a junk yard pretty easily but at the same time the springs on LMC are pretty cheap and I'm assuming they're brand spankin' new... Any thoughts?

I have wondered the same thing (about buying new springs).

You wouldn't have to worry about getting fatigued springs. There would be no clean up. There would be no fighting with the removal of the bushings, and it would be overall alot simpler to deal with...

Plus leaf springs usually look like snot up here in Canada...

That's pretty much what I was thinking... I have no doubt that it'll be more than cleaning up old springs but there is a point where it isn't worth it to mess w/ the old stuff... especially in a situation like this where springs can be physically worn out in which case no amount of rebuilding I can do in my garage will fix.

I would just get the front shackles from DIY4x as well, kert sells em in a package with the b-52s. Get the beefier front shackle hangers as well. Greaseable spring bolts would be a nice touch. Also talk to Alcan spring about some nice long travel springs. I have heard they are cheaper than Deaver and their multi-leaf (like 8 or 9 leaf) packs should be nice for running in the desert.

Yeah Alcan or Deaver progressive rate springs would be the obvious hot ticket but I just can't justify the money right now... if I'm going to drop that much dough I'll just wait to link it and coil the front :)

That's why i said talk to Alcan as they are cheaper than Deaver, and may be cheaper than you think ;)

I'll give them a ring and see what they say...

If it comes down to only being able to afford a front or rear set from them I'd assume getting the front 52's from them would be a better choice then the rear 56's. I bet the front takes more of a beating b/c of the extra weight...
