How hard is it to re-wire a grinder? I mean just the plug in part. I accidently cut part of the cord, so instead of risking my safetyness, I cut it right off so I couldn't use it.
There is just 2 wires, black and white. If I get a 2 prong plug in, and enough wire. Will all I have to do is wire it up correctly?
I need this grinder, its my 5" and my favorite one.

Buy a plug and pull it apart. Black goes to the gold screw and white goes to the silver screw. Pretty much all there is to it. Make sure you put all the peices on the cord or you'll be taking it apart again.

okay thanks. I knew it wasn't to hard to do. I will get the parts tomorrow or sometime this week.

Thanks

Well I finally got around to taking everything apart to rewire. The plug I got has 2 color recepticales for the wirre (1 black, and 1 white wire) The plug in has a light gold color (like mentioned) and on the other side it has a dark copper/brown piece. Which is neg. and what is positive for the plug in? Thanks

ac doesnt have positive negative does it?

as far as i know it doesnt really matter which wire goes to which

wrong

put the swap the neutral & hot on a lamp, and you'll fry yourself when you touch the lamp socket. That's why 2 prong plugs nowadays are polarized. so everything is safe. In a tool, this will keep you from putting the hot on the frame of the tool. It will still run, but its not as safe.

put the black wire on the the copper colored screw , the white on the lighter colored screw
