Ricer Headlights

Yep, pattern is alot better than anything DOT approved, from what I have read the only reason they arent DOT approved is b/c they dont have those raised 'dots' for aiming machines.
quite a few lights dont have the raised dots and are DOT approved(like the lmc ones).

If for nothing else, anything will last longer than the sealed beam lights.

I got the clear lenses from LMC for my 79, with the round 7" lenses. Then I got the wiring harness (I just wanted to plug n play) and then silverstar 9003 bulbs. My lights are SOOOO much better than they were with the brightest sealed beam I could find. I highly rec. this upgrade and they don't look ricerish in my opinion. I love my new headlights which are brighter than most peoples brand new vehicles.

If you want some awesome lights for the money then check these out:

I run those exact same lights on my K5 (check out this link: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175548) and they are by far the best light for the money. I run the 200mm Hella E-code H4 conversions in my 1996 Corvette and have held both lamps side by side and the quality and construction are nearly identical. The pattern difference is pretty much the same as well (even though the blazer takes the 165mm lamps). I've also used these lamps for over 6 months with the 55/100W bulbs and have yet to run into any problems. I've always been a huge Hella fan but I'm glad I decided to give these a try since 2 sets of Hellas would have been damn expensive and these work great.

About the E-code legality thing, I wouldn't worry a bit because these lights aren't really flashy enough to question whether they're DOT or not. Whatever you decide to do, definitely go E-code or you'll regret it later.

I had on my Blazer 7" H4's, big cables and relays and Hella Rallye 1000 hi-beams. That truck was sweet to drive at night, those lights were best I ever had on any vehicle I've owned! Now I have '95 Dodge Ram w/DOT lights, and those just suck, big time! I was going to replace DOT's with Hellas H1/H7 lights, but never had time to mount them, so I guess I use them on my 'Burban.

I bought a set from LMC and they look pretty cool and they offer much better and brawder lighting than the sealed beams ever could:

Not sure what to do here..Looks like AutoPal doesn`t make the 150mm...How many of you with 89-91s have done this upgrade? What exactly did you do, and what were your results?

How are the results going to likely be if I just do the relay upgrade?
