Rich's canoe/ski camping thread

There wasn't much good on the trails this weekend, so we did a little hiking to find some fresh stuff. There was about 4 inches of sugar on top of firm crust which made for a nice base. I had to throw in an instagrammie photo for deuling

I had a snow day on Wednesday, but the mountain I ski is only open thurs thru sun. I took a personal thurs. Everyone at school knows I ski. Drove home this morning and now I'm back at the mountain sitting at the bar :woot:

:haha:

We ended up camping at the summit last nights for double first tracks in the AM. The Orange tent is my buddy's.

They estimated 18 inches up top. We took our first run around 6am.

Joeys are getting to be a rare sighting, but I managed to capture one on film yesterday.

Joey is a guy from Revere who skis in a starter jacket and jeans. His girlfriend's name is Donna, but Joey is skiing alone today.

Oh and Joey always had skis on the most people screw in the wall above their fireplace like these Olins circa 1980.

A short video of camp I had intended to upload.

I skied Mt Washington from the summit today.

It was the perfect day for it. It was 40 degrees when I started skinning this morning. I felt really bad for all the shoebies with the huge packs and arctic jackets on in the parking lot.

I also saw a black bear on the way to the hill.

Some of the trail on the way down has turned into a raging river. I had to skim a couple sections.

I didn't document any of my canoe adventures this year. :doah:

I took one last paddle on the Concord yesterday before putting the boats away.
