Hey guys Im new here, been a lurker for a while.

Im tossing around the idea of getting a BDS or Skyjacker 6inch for my k5..
The skyjacker kit would be with the front and rear springs with the m95 shocks.
The BDS kit would also have front and rear springs with the FOX shocks.

How do they ride and flex? I have a 4 inch rough country now and it rides like crap.

Are you dead set on the 6" ? I had the TC 4" HD springs that rode great! Personally I prefer keeping it lower for less driveline issues.

No I'm not but I have a 4 inch now and with 36s would like a little more clearance without cutting fenders...

Well to go against the grain I worked up some 52s with 6 leafs each kinda hybrid 56/52 pack almost all are longer to prevent the damn things from bending. I may add more but I'll start with this.

My BDS rides great. I removed one spring from every pack and switched the curved overload for a straight one. Rides great, and Im not even running rear shocks. It has sway and it leans, but its stable enough to drive no problem.

This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. Tuff Country and up in the price scale generally ride pretty well. Custom springs give the best combination of ride and flex. The cheap kits (rough country, et al) are usually going to ride like a dump truck and it gets worse the higher you lift.

I've heard of some people recurving a stock spring to get more lift, but never seen any feedback on how well it works.

Way back in 2001 when I bought my truck, the PO had installed Rough Country springs.

Horrible.

I did some quick spring calcs from measurements I took off the springs, and they were over 700Lb/in rate!!! :doah: that's waaaaay too stiff for our trucks. Seek out a spring down in the 300 - 450 Lb/in range and you'll be a lot happier.
