Finished my build (for the time being) so I thought I'd enjoy the truck off road. The Detroit in the rear is incredible! The pics really don't show it well, but the ravines we were going in to were very deep and steep. We had one tire off the ground going down at a weird angle--the truck sorta gently rolled onto a tree which held us up the rest of the way down. Not too much damage. It's just sheet metal. We tried going up a ravine with waste concrete dumped in it from the DOT but got shifted and STUCK on the rocks badly. About an hour and a half of piling rocks, winching, and inching we finally got off. Whew! I'm new to Chevys---I love the full size!

Swampers. They measure about 37 x 11. I think they are called Q78s. Look on the swamper website.

Nice looking rig but did you pick up a hitch hiker in the third pic while wheeling?:D

That's about the best looking bumper I have ever seen. Blazen Offroad? Wish they made that for a first gen.

Big Blzn,
Thanks man! Yeah BOF bumper. I kick myself for not ordering the rear bumper at the same time and saving money on shipping. I'm a dumbass--what can I say. I really could have used a rear winch on the last wheelin trip. I will be ordering a locker for the front and the rear bumper soon. It's only money.

Love the tire size.

This picture is screaming "CAPTION ME" btw lol.

The skinnier tires handle great at high speeds. They also get better gas mileage due to their lower resistance. They may also turn sharper because they may have a different scrub radius. I don't know about that though.
