Don't think so. This is a very slight ping or ring. Can just barely hear it with the radio down.
It's not something I have heard before, this is def. ringing instead of airflow
Start poking around under the hood. It could very easily be something that's loose that is noticeable at certain rpm points due to vibration/harmonics.
Almost. Sounds more like the intro to winds of change by scorpions.
Come to think of it, I had a similar noise a while back. I never figured it out, but since then changed from V-belts to serpentine and haven't noticed it. Maybe it was something hanging on the front of the motor.

Noises can be a PITA to locate. You might get a "mechanic's stethoscope"

or similar, going around the engine compartment putting the probe up to various parts of the motor. Note they are surprisingly sensitive, so don't plug the earpieces right in like they're your iPad earbuds or you WILL hurt yourself. Hold the earpieces outside the ears, first, until you get a feel for how FRIGGING LOUD they can get. This is the voice of experience.
The general idea is that if you put the probe up to the case of the alternator (being wary of the wiring
) and you hear the noise, then you may be hearing its bearings grind or the like.
If the probe picks up your tapping when placed against the heads -- don't burn yourself on the manifolds -- you've got top end noise (bad), or below the heads, bottom end trouble (really bad
) Obviously the motor makes "normal" noises so the trick is to local the "abnormal" one. (Youn Frankenstein ... "Abby Normal"...)

If i remember right, you cant really get a motor to detonate at idle.
Plug off your pcv valve and see if it goes away.
Have you run over a cat lately? Some of them wear bells on their collars, and it might be hung up under the truck........
Otherwise check your exhaust pipe hangers. Some of the aftermarket type are made of old belt type material, with a rivet and a washer.
When the belt breaks, the washer will ring at idle.
