Rim Diameter

I am pretty lost on the subject of rim diameter. I am entertaining the thought of getting bead locks, currently I have aluminum 16.5 inch rims, there does not seem to be much variety for bead locks in this size. Hummer rims or any type of weld on conversion is out of the question for me. I have to have a certain amount of pimpness , so I would be looking at a set of aluminum bead locks. What are the advantages/disadvantages of different rim diameters?

16.5's fit over D60 brake calipers without having to grind them, once you beadlock a rim diameter isn't that much of an issue IMO

15's are the most common and probably the easiest to find tires for (if your looking for used stuff)
