I am ready to order some 41-17-14.5 irok radial for the 2500 hd

interco recommends a 17x12" rim

I would like to run a 10 inch wide rim, problem is I would like the track width to go out a bit, most rims I have found are 17x9 and only 4 and 3/4" of back spacing..

I currently have a set of 17x8 inch rims with 4.6 inches of bs that I could use

help or suggestions are welcomed!

-Shawn

I tried searching around for you and couldn't find anything, like you said they all have 4.5" backspacing or more.

This is the best I could find, they're 17x9's in whatever backspacing you want.

I ran my 42's on 8" wide wheels for a while and they were fine though they are better on something closer to 10" (which is what I have now)

I find it odd I cant find what I want!

thanks for the help btw,

-shawn

I think I will mount one up on the rim I have and see if I like it, my concern is the tire hitting the radius arm.

Those are some nice , huge tires ............... does that mean your going to finally regear and mount a front driveshaft :thumb:

whats killing me is that I actually like the tucked in look, but the truck does need to have a wider track width for some added stability.

I do see more options in the 16x10 flavor so i may go with some black rock crawler rims and just add some custom rock rigs.

Another option is eaton bead locks, But I only see 15 inch rims.

You could run a black, steel 16, and weld on some "rim strengtheners" with your business name and logo cut into them...

today I did some measuring..

I grabbed a wheel/tire off the buggy to have a look. At full lock it rubs my shock mount that is located on my radius arms. This is on a hummer wheel with 7 inches of back spacing and a 1 inch spacer. The hummer rim is 16.5 x8.25 for the bead mounting surface.

the rims I have a 17x8" for the bead mount surface, these have a back spacing of around 5.5 inches. So I gain 1.5 inches with the decrease back spacing, if I was to swap to a 2 inch spacer this would put me around 3.5 inches of back spacing and should not contact my shock mounts and I hope would give the truck the right look.. Issue I have is that these rims bring on the bling:doah: and they would get damaged I am sure.. "dents and scratches don't scare me to much though" The idea is to mount one on the bling rims and see if I like it..problem is the bling rims are 17" rims..and the other favorable rim options are 16" rims.. so I would them have the wrong tires:crazy:

the 17's cost me 300.00 to buy them back and where ever even used since I sold them.

a set of just steel wheels is 400.00 and from there for anything special the price jumps to 200-250.00 a rim..:doah:

I do like the tuff/rugged and tucked in look of my hummer wheels though..

all this and you still do not have a front driveshaft. :doah::D

I'm just jealous that your 2wd looks better then my 4wd.

I get alot of crap for that:D

Currently I have mismatched gears and bald rear tires...so I wont bolt it in untill its all done. I am dealing with the lift and tires at the momment. Currnt issue is that the new front springs I put on are still as hell so I am going to see if the weight of a new bumper, winch and dual batteries are enough to combat it.. for the rear I ordered some deavers:woot:

gears are 5.38 and a powertrax or lock right up front, along with all that the 205 needs a rebuild really bad:(

Its not done but I am getting close, today I ordered the 17x9 series 97 rock crawler wheeles and the 41 inch irocks fo it though.

between 745.00 for rear springs and 2000.00 for the wheels and tires this truck is a money pit again. Cant wait to drive it though on balanced tires:haha:
