I did not know where to post this question, I did not see a Tire and Rim section on the site.

Question I bought my Money Pit with Dry rotted Swampers 37-14-15, the rims were 15" x 12" , now to drive it around the fab shops I picked up a used set of 35-10.50 x 15, , we dropped the blazer 3" body lift back to stock, and teh 35s look OK, im was going to just get some new 35 x 12.5 x 15 or should I go to a 10", 9" or 8" rim, goal is daily driver and play in the high desert now and then.
I was looking at Sand Truck Tires that use 15" x 12" and maybe just use those for that project or just drive the damn thing

Rotted Swamper, they are gone now

6 " lift with 3" body

Not a big fan of wide wheels on stock axles. That is a lot of leverage working on the bearings.

For a daily driver, go with 8" and 35's. I built mine while living in Riverside. Ran 16x8 Allied bead locks with BFG bajas. Worked great in the desert.

Thanks for info, :waytogo:

What is with that "traction" shock on the spring pack?, I would like to see a pic of that....

I'm on the narrow wheel band wagon. I've got stock 8" wheels to run with my 35s and run the factory steelies on my Crew Cab with 285/75s.

Anti wrap shock used when adding lift blocks. They helped, but not really how it should be done. Quick and easy bolt in fix.

Interesting, not something I want or anything, just wanted to see more, looks like typical 80's crap

I'd put 10's on. I always match rim width to actual tread width, which on a 12.50 tire is about 10".

The whole suspension is going to be re done in a few months, Deaver springs being ordered sometime in March with the King Shocks, , need to order a few Items from Kert at DIY4x.

Find a set of stock rally wheels. A 35x12.50x15" looks the best on a 15"x8" wheels. Any wider and it starts to stretch the tire.

Too late to matter now but, those rotted Boggers would be a lot safer than those ancient Goodyears you picked up. Although they may not appear dry rotted, there's a very good chance of them breaking belts or even blowing one out. From what I remember, they have very thin sidewalls.

I got those goodyears for roll around, picked them up fro 200 bucks, just now looking for Tire and rims , don't know what outside diameter rims to go with, I like the 15" look, plus for some reason A/T tires are lower cost than 17" tires, and now I am finding out that beadlock rims may not be allowed to use for daily driving, I am heading over to OMF some time this week to get all the information.

External bead locks are not DOT legal. That being said, I have had mine for 10 years with no issues.

Your insurance can deny covering an accident if you have non compliant features. But I would think a wheel failure would have to be the cause to deny.

Thats why I was thinking of going local to OMF, Ill buy DOT approved rims and have them convert them.

Besides that, the insurance adjuster would have to realize that they are real beadlocks and not the common fakes. I don't think that's very likely at all.

I know 3 adjusters for different companies. They are now trained to look for anything to keep the company from paying. And they would see it.

That puts me back to the 8" vs 10" wide rim, and it seems the 8 " is the favorite, I was only thinking 10" with 12.50 wide tire for Flotation.
Think Ill look into these, not real bead locks

Might want to look into the Weld Mountain Crusher and Stone Crusher wheels. Fake beadlock, then there is the Evo series with the lock rings that look pretty mean.

I'd do 10" all day long, that is perfect for a 12.50 tire.

BTW, Fuels are made in China.
