When I am changing the Ring and Pinion of my axles, do I need to remove the complete axle and dismember the gears, or can I simply leave them mounted on the truck?

I`ve never done a gear change, but I`m pretty sure it can be done with the axles on the truck...

It's easier to do in the truck, unless you can securely mount them into something else.

master kit will come with all the bearings (pinion, carrier, axle), seals (axles, pinion), shims, and R&P bolts and such. This is a good route to go.
An install kit will only come with new pinion bearings and shim kits, but most likely not the axle seals or bearings or carrier bearings. It may or may not come with R&P bolts, depends on the kit manufacturer.

Is an installation kit same as overhaul-kit? I assume an installation-kit should be enough when the axles are in good condition, or am I wrong?
