Better yet I work in a tool shop where we use shim that is .0005 thick ! On the back of the pack it has a MFG. toerance of +/-.00005 on the thickness 
Yep thats 50 millionths
I was told that it's run through a super precision roller line that is constintly monitered by a computer with infrared(?) eyes.
Or maybe its just magic
