Holy @#@# batman! I've got my 1/2" impact gun going full bore at 120 PSI and only 3 bolts have relented. How the heck do you get these buggers off?

1) I do not have a bench or vice.
2) I've tried a pry bar in the cross shaft hole for leverage to no avail.

Heat?
 
i had to use a bench and vice, dang near busted a gut prying on it. iv been told heat works but never tried it.
 
I braced the carrier a bit differently and was able to break the bolts loose with a 3" breaker bar. Ug.

Well, the lockright is now in the carrier and ready for re-installation...
 
I break them loose while it's still in the diff housing, and use a long breaker bar, never really had an issue with them
 
have your little brother twisting a ratchet around and asking how much longer its going to take. By the time you get the diff out, the ring bolots just come off :angry1: :pimp:

Dana axles , of all the things to do , make it so you have to remove the carrier to put in a lunchbox locker , damn roll pin :thumb:

how much torque does your 1/2 impact putout? if it is a cheapie you might just need a more powerful impact. my ingersol rand puts out 450lbs torque, mine came right off and they were factory installed bolts. just my .02 cents.
