DANG sorry for your loss I would so tore up if that happened to my truck. Glad no one was hurt. Save what you can then look at it again and save some more like the CUCV shackles and mounts and things you forgot the first time.

I am on my way to go load it up and get it home now... I will save every useable part on it for the next build. I have avoided my FIL as much as possible because of other problems, but sometimes I am just too nice and ended up letting him borrow my truck again. That certainly won't every happen again. I'll consider myself extremly lucky if he actually steps up and helps to replace the truck at this point.

That sucks ,poor pick up. I don't know what i would do if i was in that situation. I would be hella pissed , but **** happens sometimes:(

Chuck that '65 GMC cab and stuff on the frame Kenny...assuming the frame is OK of course.

Brutal, sorry about your truck. Glad no one was hurt . At least you should have a lot of quality build parts for what ever you get. Dont hold a grudge but always remember.

Sucks to hear Kenny! Pick up the pieces and move on, that's all you can do at this point. Very scary to see how hard that engine hit in the front, especially pic 3 showing the bedside ripped open like that. Just one more reason to always secure the load properly.

Unfortunately I ended up selling everything from the '66 GMC but the front fenders and some NOS grill letters the week before at the Portland Swap Meet :doah: I'm not exactly sure what I am going to do at this point, but my wife is working mandatory OT for the next 3 weeks straight and has already offered me the extra cash to put towards the next truck. I may just part this one out and see how much I can scrape together towards a newer 6.5L/NV4500 truck and do a SFA swap down the road.

At least for now, what is left of the truck is safely at home now. It was too dark to get pics, so I'll have to get a few in the morning before I unload it.

Here ya go in Ca at $3k

Damn dude that sucks. I never really loan my truck out cause noone wants to borrow it. I did have a girl a while back I was interested in want to use it til her car got fixed. I found out she ran it out of gas twice and was hauling people around in it. I took it back so she got pissed and we don't talk anymore. Idk what would have happened if she wrecked it :eek1:

Good luck finding another. :(

Nobody has ever had the nerve to ask to outright borrow my crewcab. My scrap truck, from time to time my uncle will ask to borrow it but never leaves town.

Insured? Collect from them.

FIL, collect from him.

Build twice the truck.:D

My inlaws have asked to borrow our vehicles. After the 3rd HELL NO they stopped asking. I am glad to haul for them if it works for my schedule and its not a big hassle but they will not drive my trucks.

I bought my next truck today... 1989 Chevy K5 Silverado

Those are just the crappy pics from CL... but I will have better ones tomorrow. I should be able to use a lot of parts off of my old truck to fix up the new K5 too.
