Ripped off shock mount

my shock mount on the drivers side rear of the frame sheared off. i want to weld a tab but i dont know of the repercussions(i dont think theirs any:dunno: )
do any of you have any other suggestions or is this the best way to do it?

I was able to buy a new one from the Chevy Dealer. Had to grind out the rivets and used bolts to replace.
 
The same thing happened to me a while back after I jumped my Blazer... Both sides (passenger and driver) were ripped off the frame. I just ditched the stock mounting locations, mounted the DIY inboarding shock crossmember, had the DIY lower shock mounts welded to the top of axle, then installed my shocks. I thought about re-using the stock locations but the cracks are too wide on the passenger side so I said screw it.
 
I bought one, I seem to remember it was less than $15. I could be wrong though.
 
ya i was thinking about doing inboard but i dont have the money right now, definatley on the list though, alright i think ill try to air chisel that one off tommorow and ill go down to chevy and see if i can get it
