I need to fasten some snaps to some thin gauge metal with rivets but since the rivet gun head doesn't fit down inside the snaps they are all loose.

I'm assuming there is a tool or head made specifically to fit inside the snaps, but I'm having no luck finding it. Any suggestions?

I'd just get some small diameter steel tubing to use as a spacer, allowing correct pressure on the rivet head and enough rigidity to not crush before the shank snaps. Not sure if it's a small but you probably get what I mean

just use short #6 or 8 self tapping screws instead of rivets...

the back of the piece I am making needs to be relatively flat so screws are a no go.

the answer turned out to be buying something other than HF crap. found a nicer rivet guy where the head was small enough to fit inside the snap stud.

yeah, the 2 I own fit inside snaps, but it's rare I have to rivet snaps...

I install em in boats all the time, but they are generally selftapped into glass..
