Roadkill and Roadkill Garage are one of the few shows that I actually enjoy watching and find they don't have faked scenes or drama. Just good old fashioned wrenching and things always breaking which I can relate to.

Sorry I'm a little behind on my episodes but anyone catch the poor short bed square body truck that got tossed to the side for the 60 Ranchero? They were both sitting in the back yard for many years. Never said a word about the poor truck. All about getting to the Ranchero.

Looks they are using this in the upcoming Roadkill Garage episode...

That K20 from Dirt Every Day is one of my favorites, they ran that thing across the Rubicon completely stock LOL.
If you haven't seen that episode I highly recommend it

I gotta see that. I just got motortrend a month ago and I’m in car show heaven. Some are dumb, some are great, I’m just glad to not have to only watch spider man or hgtv anymore. Dad finally gets some of his own shows.

Yeah I remember that episode. It was crazy what they dragged it through! DED was another favorite and actually inspired me to build the M1008 about 5 years ago with the Alabama Army truck. Just interesting to see some squares on the RK shows lately.

They have some great episodes. Trying to drive stuff across the nation that are not in the best condition. I think we have all been in that situation at one time or another.

Fred's first cucv that got stolen inspired me to build my cucv.

You mean this one?

13 years ago this week I had my cucv stolen. I’m pretty sure its been chopped up and parted out by now, but I always like to post it up and see if its ever shown up again. This was my first cucv, before I built the one on Dirt every Day. It had welded on rock sliders, a winch under the front bumper, camo mastercraft seats, a manual transmission swap and a banks turbo kit. It also had a modified front grill guard to fit the big lights, modified rear bumper to fit a back up light, front detroit with one of a kind cast iron dif cover and lee ram assist steering. It was stolen from Sun Valley, California in 2010. I know its a long shot, but it doesn’t hurt to throw it out there and see if it ever showed up again. #thievessuck

Yeah that's the one, I want to see pics on how he built the sliders around the saddle tanks. I had that issue of the magazine where he built them once upon a Time

Sometimes I miss my M1008. If I were to keep it, I would need to upgrade the engine with a turbo or another diesel swap, add AC and fix the block heater for 0 degree cold starts.

Roadkill Garage is my favorite because their still rolling around on the floor like I am.
So true! They don't use any fancy dancy lifts. LOL

I keep waiting for it to happen, but I'm pretty sure they are intentionally not going that route.

I'm fairly certain that's 99.9% of their intentions.

DF's big thing to keep it his content he controls in the realm of the real man. And alot of the Avg guy won't or can't install a lift due to cost, shop/garage space, concrete floor thickness, ceiling height, or any number of other reasons.

David has said time and time again. That the average guy can do this.
And if he starts messing around in high dollar shops and tools and cars that the initial purchase price is in the 20s and 30 thousand dollar ranges, how does that show the Average guy the ability to do that?

Nope, they keep it real with rolling creepers, jackstands, Steve Dulcich acetylene welding, and basic hand tools.
I mean, when they were building that 4 dr 66 chevelle for high speed runs, they cut up a Mopar hood for the metal to build a front air dam for the velle.
Nothing much more grassroots then that.
Keep it real DF and SD and I'll keep watching.
Once they go hollywood like vice grip garage, I'm out.
Roadkill Garage is probably my favorite show of all time. Even with all those substandard mopars they have.

I gotta say Shawn, every vehicle you own(ed) that you have posted pics of is ultra sano. Well done!

I agree to a point. the work with the basic tools, a buddy and a crappy garage...yup. Affordability for the average guy? bit of a stretch sometimes. They still get comped a fair amount of spendy parts that take the average guy quite a while to save for.

That being said, I signed up for MTOD the first month it was live and have had that subscription since. RK, RK garage, HRG and Engine Masters are my "gotta watch" shows. I was a little unsure when Tony Angelo left Motor Trend and Hot Rod Garage, but Alex Taylor as his replacement is "mint". Alex and Lucky crack me up, and she is a hell of a wrenc in her own right.

I peruse others, and will admit Roadworthy Rescues with Derek Bieri is decent, as is "Faster with Finnegan" even though Finnegan stepped away from that show to spend more time with his family. now it's "Faster with Cotten and Newbern" lol

That's not lost on me Rene, DF building a tunnel rammed big block for his 32 that makes over 1,000 hp N/A isn't avg guy stuff.
That's hard-core stuff. But remember these are hard core guys that do make a living with their hobby.
It's not a hobby, it's their profession.
Got to remember that SD was a freelance journalist, so they means putting out his own dough to write cars articles and getting paid once the article is bought.
Don't think for a second that DF And SD aren't getting company money to spend on parts.
They are. But they need to make content.
Spend money to make money.

RG wouldn't be worth watching every episode was a budget 300hp 350 small block.
It just wouldn't be.
The redeeming quality is that, this fact isn't lost on DF, he realizes he's in a very unique situation that he gets paid to play with his toys.
And that he's using company money to pay for parts.
He's very very selective on what he tells the camera about where parts come from.
He can be very open about him paying for parts with his dime. And he can be pretty quiet about it to.
That's 110% calculated.
In my opinion.
The fact that he's pretty open about it and he make it known that you don't need to be as extreme to have fun in this hobby. That is why it doesn't bother me. And why I think they still apply to to the avg guying building a 57 poncho.

Really appreciate it! I realize some builds of mine are not hard core off-road builds like some of the others and more of a restoration but its good to bring each one back to its former glory. There's always satisfaction in that and sharing it with other enthusiasts. :)
