Anyone ordered a quadrajet from rock auto? I know, I know...but I just picked up a new k30 for seriously cheap and it needs a carb. It's all stock and I don't want to screw with it much. Just replace the quadrajet and go on about my business. They have a US made part available and I was looking for information before ordering one.

You might want to check with National Carburetors. They do, or used to do, most of the refurbished carbs sold at parts stores. I called and talked to a tech (Eddie Obie) and gave him all the specs of my engine, vehicle and planned use (even the headers and exhaust length and diameter), and he built a carb for me that was incredible. All I had to do was set the idle. And it was waay less money than anywhere else. Plus I kept my carb. Keep in mind that this was years ago.
As someone who used to rebuild carbs in my younger days I took the advice of a friend and tried them. Couldn't be happier!
Look them up to see if they are still in business. If so, I'd go that route, personally.

When it comes to buying rebuilt carbs the re-builders never seem to re-bushing the throttle shaft. If the throttle shaft does not get re-bushed, then you can do everything in the world to the carb, but it will still not work right.

I absolutely agree. All National Carburetors carbs have all new bushings and the shaft tolerances are checked. According to their site they flow test the carbs and even check them on an engine.
I recommended them since I've had first hand experience with their rebuilds.
As I stated before, I used to rebuild carbs and was a little leary of having someone else build one for me but at the time I was going through a serious medical condition and wasn't able to do it myself.
The carb I sent (yup, i sent my carb and got the same one back) came back and I have to say I was completely impressed. Its still on the truck and working fantastic.
Everyone is free to do whatever they want, I was simply trying to offer a suggestion, or one option, to the post to look into, is all.

I am guessing you thought I was replying to your post. I was replying to the person that started this thread. The person that started this thread was asking about Quad carbs from Rockauto, which are all rebuilt.

Nope, just trying to offer an alternative for his information should it be useful.

ETA: AutoLine rebuilds carbs for Rockauto. While I don't have any experience with their rebuilds I have had a very good experience with National Carburetors, that's all I'm trying to say.
