Can you drill and tap a stock steering box to work with a hydrolic ram. if you can where do you drill. also would a pump for a hydroboost braking system have enough preasure to run a ram. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You might have to run dual pumps since you have hydroboost, some people don't have to though... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I did the mods listed above plus I used a smaller pulley on mine and it does just fine. I imagine the lower your gear ratio the better it will work.

probably won't run the hydroboost brakes just the pump.
I was told that it pumped lot more preasure no? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I have hydraboost with a ram and it works fine you dont have to do anything to your pump.
remember that if you do mod your pump you will likely burn it up a lot faster than your stock pump and putting an underdrive pully on to speed your slow steering up will deffinitely burn it up. that comes straight out of matts mouth from wto.

he told me there will always be one down fall to this system
1. either your steering will be slow at an idle or
2. you can speed it up with an underdrive pully and it will burn the pump up much faster.

I chose a slower steering at an idle when you need it to turn faster touch the throttle.

Read this /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif or search for "hydro assist" there are quite a few posts on this /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

i think pierate 4x4 has a good info on it in there /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.giftech site

I checked out that info /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif good info but My box is out of a chevy and i think they have a toy box /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gifthe mounts are right in the way of drilling the top hole /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif If thats even the right spot to drill and what pasage are you trying to hit for the top hole. i think the bottom can be drilled there if the lines don't get tangled /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Where did you get a smaller pulley?

Marine pumps have smaller pulleys.
